Sowing the Seeds!

This is an exciting time of the year for my farming family. I should say some of the family.   Spring!  Although our primary income is derived from poultry, my men think that the most exciting part of farming is sitting on a tractor of 15 or more hours a day and "givin'er!!"  The prediction of a full week of sunshine....and away they go!

Our neighborhood is buzzing with fresh cut hay and fields of large bales beginning to sit like proud marshmallows (is there such a thing?) on large acreages.  Not large in terms of "prairie" size, but large for the Fraser Valley.

Other fields have the remnants of last years growth...

 ...of corn stubble and weeds....

..just waiting for some happy farmer to show up....

... and show up they have.

Back and forth, early morning until late night on that tractor!  Even the birds get in on the action with the feast of their lives magically appearing behind the disc.

Really, there is only one reason to bring that tractor to a stop....

Even a farmer has to eat, talk on the phone and check the weather forecast.   See you next month, my Deere (oops! Dear)!

Welcome back to the world of blogging. I look forward to you sharing your journey.
What a familiar scene..
I have a few from every window and it's mostly JD's working at this end of the valley.
