Sunday Drive: LaConner and Further!

With the assurances of a sunny day, we hopped in the car and headed south.  There is just something about Sundays and not having a plan or destination that makes the day a lazy adventure.  

Although we suspected that the tulip festival in LaConner was over, we headed in that direction anyway.

And sure enough!  the only tulips to be found were stray "escapies" from the harvest or container gardens that could be found lining the streets...

...or brought inside.   The tulips in this display container at the restaurant we had lunch at were amazing!

 There was a car show in town (which we checked out) however there was much better viewing on the streets.

It seems those who enjoy the old....

...and the new were also out for a Sunday drive!

 Going further south, we crossed the bridges into Deception State Park....

 ...found a parking spot and headed down the trail....

 ..to a fabulous place to park ourselves for the afternoon...

..book in hand....

...oh, forget the book.... we just soaked up the sunshine and enjoyed the view!

And next Sunday?   who knows where we will find ourselves!
