In my growing up years I was taught that Sundays were meant for going to church, relaxing, visiting with friends and participating in those activities that were enjoyable and you didn't have time to do during the week. A day of rest!
So we headed out - in the rain - with our swimming shoes on - to Minter Gardens......where not only the flowers were putting on a lovely and colorful show,
...and the flower-lined walkways were giving off a wonderful fragance,
...and the displays were all in order....
...but also to check in on the Annual Car Show.
The cars were place in strategic places throughout the gardens....
...and organized according by class groupings.
The judges determined the awards and the "people" (aka us) were given an opportunity to vote as well for the People's Choice Award.
The decision about which vehicle was to receive a vote was not a decision to be taken lightly, and required much discussion.
Certainly this red truck was my husband's favorite.......while I cast my vote for this Rolls Royce.
After all, who wouldn't want to ride in this kind of style!
Even the hood ornament was beautiful.
But really, aside from the gardens and cars, a good old fashioned Sunday visit with friends is what it is all about!
And we will be back again - bringing more friends.....That is what Sundays are to be made of!
